Many of us would be happy to reduce the budget essence of their vehicle (because obviously we think primarily in portfolios and not the environmental impact ... the opposite approach is more sensitive). Here are some ways to consume less fuel:
- Starting with the idea that the car is not a necessary step towards independence, because you will at least be financially dependent on its maintenance and its consumption ( is 50km/jour = about 900 € per year ).
- You live and you work in town in the city: Take the transit, biking , walking .
- You live in the suburbs (10-20km) and you move into town: use the free parking at the entrance to towns and take public transit ; use the carpool (the carpool Service France Bleu ).
- You go occasionally in another region: use the carpool, take the train .
- You made the (right) choice not to buy a car through all of the above but you want to go on vacation: rent a vehicle.
- Your job requires frequent travel without which you could save your life: choose the least polluting vehicles (Rank HERE). Eg Toyota Prius.
- You live in the countryside in an area poorly served by public transport, more than 20km from a town: also opt for a vehicle low CO2 emissions and low consumption (newer vehicle so) and obey speed limits (hard acceleration and high speeds greatly increase fuel consumption and therefore the emission of CO2).
